Norwich to Halesworth to Woodbridge

Now only about half a days ride away from Felixstowe and a short ferry trip over the river mouth to Harwich, where we aim to get the overnight ferry to the Hook of Holland - a day earlier than we planned.  It's due to rain very hard tomorrow in this part of the world - they haven't had any yet and are desperate for the water!!!  With our luck with ferries on this trip not running when we want to use them, we've rung and confirmed that the little ferry from Felixstowe to Harwich is definitely running at the moment - only takes 12 people at a time and runs about 4 x a day.
Made the most of our hotel room in Norwich, and by the time we'd treated ourselves to lunch in Morrison's and done the shopping, it was after 12.30 before we left the city.  40 miles later of undulating terrain - warm but overcast - we arrived at a 'back to nature' camping and caravan site, just down the road from a (?the) Bernard Matthews plant - at least this one had a toilet - inside the house off the utility room. The sun came out for a short while afer we got there which helped a little to dry off the tent etc - put it away wet two days ago - a distinct smell of dampness in the tent.
We're in Suffolk now - and it's even more undulating than Norfolk was! Up and down, round the houses - you've done 10 miles and then see a roadsign back to where you've come from and it'll say 4 miles via the fast, busy roads.  As it is we hardly see cars for most of the route which is great.
This morning we woke to mist, and the day has been cool and grey, with a very light drizzle mid afternoon - felt like hard work today, hardly any flat sections. Past the castle at Framlingham, but very grey and murky.  A lovely surprise when we cycled past a suitable campsite, about 31 miles from when we started - were expecting to have to cycle for another hour or so.  Decided to stop now - bird in the hand etc and also looking like it might start raining hard very soon.  Just had a shower, a brew and some date and walnut flapjack, and feeling very content.  Building up the reserves for all that rain tomorrow......
